The Medical Leadership Council:
Meeting the Needs of California’s Diverse Patient Populations

Elected and staff leaders of California's medical specialty societies, county medical associations, health plans and health systems have been meeting since 2002 as the Medical Leadership Council, convened by The California Endowment. With the ultimate goal of eliminating health disparities based on race and ethnicity, they work to provide language access, improve cultural proficiency, and increase workforce diversity in health care. In this 10-minute video, MLC members provide their uniquely personal views on critical policy matters and chronicle the Council's many successes.
